Using the zip or rar file
1.Download FxCopCommon.dll 8.0.50727.42
2.Extract FxCopCommon.dll 8.0.50727.42 from .zip. We recommend that you extract FxCopCommon.dll 8.0.50727.42 to the installation directory of the program that is requesting FxCopCommon.dll 8.0.50727.42.
3.If that doesn't work, you will have to extract FxCopCommon.dll 8.0.50727.42 to your system directory. By default, this is:
C:\Windows\System32 (Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8)
C:\WINNT\System32 (Windows NT/2000)
C:\Windows\System (Windows 95/98/Me)
4.If you use a 64-bit version of Windows, you should also place FxCopCommon.dll 8.0.50727.42 in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\
5.Make sure overwrite any existing files (but make a backup copy of the original file).
6.Reboot your computer.
7.If the problem still occurs, try the following:
8.Open Windows Start menu and select "Run...".
9.Type CMD and press Enter (or if you use Windows ME, type COMMAND)).
10.Type regsvr32 FxCopCommon.dll 8.0.50727.42 and press Enter.
